Collected souvenirs were used to create a fresh body of work inspired by my stay. Handmade paper by local artisans, naturally-dyed wool from the sheep of a weaver, fiber from the Agave plant, and Oaxaca’s ubiquitous grocery bag; these materials carry an intrinsic story of a culture and its past. Though the manipulation and preservation of these materials new forms of documentation are explored and put on display. designs for wallpaper company, Looksee Collective.&nbsp;The wallpaper collection is an extension of my printmaking practice where I combine material experimentation with visual simplicity. I used a digital collage process of cutting and layering previously printed works on paper to create fresh shapes and configurations. Despite this digital method, the patterns carry the remnants of my analog process - grainy textures, organic shapes, and unevenly colored surfaces.
